They hoped that the man would come to his senses and cancel the wedding. Some of them even referred to the woman as being evil.
If you are a parent you would understand that taking care of kids is no mean feat. Dealing with them outside the house or in social gatherings can lead you to sometimes pull your hair out. So it might be understandable if weddings have a 'no-kids policy.' However, a bride-to-be crossed the line when she asked netizens if it was okay to ask her fiancé to exclude his three-year-old daughter from their wedding. The woman posted her query on Facebook which later found its way on Reddit where it really blew up.
The woman wrote that she put a "no kids" on the invites hoping her fiancé would get the message but much to her chagrin, "he keeps mentioning she being there". If she was expecting any sympathy after putting up her post, she was sorely mistaken. Redditors lambasted the woman for her insensitivity, and not being accepting of her soon-to-be stepchild.
Hoping to clear the air further, the woman added a couple of more edits to her initial post to give a clearer picture. However, that didn't go as planned either. She referred to the child as being a "crotch goblin" and that it was "his mistake not mine". Furthermore, she went on to note that the three-year-old child was "needy asf and makes everything about her" while reiterating that "I said no fucking kids".
Most Redditors believed that the groom-to-be needed to cancel the wedding and that he was better off without this lady in question. Redditor Chunkeeguy wrote: That poor child if her father is one of those worthless men who throw their kids under the bus for an evil step***** from hell. Another, ElElseEle hoped that there was someone who knew the woman's fiancé lurked in these parts of the internet and would inform him of her evil plans: I hope someone who knows them sees her post and shows him before he marries this screeching banshee. Single parents are a package deal, period. He needs to run as far and fast as he can!!!
Another user, Shellwe speculated that the woman's disdain for her man's daughter was probably nothing new for him, writing: I don't think any of this is news to him. It's not like she pretends to love the kid 24/7 around him then would call her a crotch goblin online. I am guessing he doesn't want to be alone and is settling for her and she will convince him to put herself before his child. Maybe even insist the kid lives with his mom or goes off to school somewhere. There were those who shared personal experiences about being the unwanted kid and it is just heartbreaking. A Redditor named CRJG95 wrote: My stepmother didn’t want my brother and I at the wedding reception, we were 16 and 13. My dad’s whole family basically said that if she sent us home they would all leave as well so she ended up backing down. Things did not get better after they got married.
As far as the wedding was concerned, the woman did find the support of 'child-free' people, but they disagreed with her about wanting to exclude the child, considering it was her partner's. They also said that she was giving childfree people a bad name as a result of her insensitive actions.
