The injustice suffered by the adorable 2nd grader has got netizens ready to pick up their pitchforks and reunite her with her pink, perfect attendance pencil.
The world today is extremely divided—humans are put into boxes based on religion, borders, ethnicity, race, skin tone, political affiliations, favorite sports teams, stance on women's reproductive rights, thoughts on vaccinations, opinions on the shape of Earth and whatnot. However, history has time and again born witness to humans forgetting their differences and joining forces when a worthy cause arises. While there are a number of worthy causes worth fighting for today (climate crisis, Australian bushfires, Syrian civil war, Kashmir conflict, etc.), the one that's got netizens ready to pick up their pitchforks is the injustice suffered by a second-grader named Taylor.
It all began when Tabitha Garcia took to Instagram to share her daughter's furious rant about how a classmate took her beloved, pink, perfect attendance pencil. The almost 2-minute long hilarious video begins with young Taylor recounting how she put her pink perfect attendance pencil in the classroom box of pencils to be sharpened. "I'm the only one who has one has one of the same type of those," the indignant little girl states. Some major 2nd-grade drama went down the next day when Taylor went to collect her sharpened pencil only to find that her pencil wasn't in the box!
Instead, the box only contained yellow, plain, old pencils which, of course, wasn't Taylor's pink perfect attendance pencil. The visibly frustrated girl went on to reveal how "somebody—and I know who—stole my perfect attendance pencil who didn't even earn one because they were in Canada!" Turns out Taylor's classmate Lizzie had taken the pencil from the box and was using it when clearly, she hadn't earned it. Moreover, little miss Lizzie didn't even regret what she'd done when confronted by the pencil's rightful owner.
Thankfully, Taylor's one true friend Reese jumped to her rescue, rightfully pointing out to Lizzie that she couldn't use the pencil without earning it. When Lizzie refused to return the pencil even after all that, Taylor patiently waited till after lunch to get her precious pencil. But guess what happened next? Miss Lizzie lost the pencil! "I never got my pencil back," Taylor yelled, adding that even the teacher didn't help her get her hard-earned pencil back. Her mom trying to console her with an "it's just a pencil" talk was the final straw for the furious young girl as she sets the record straight yelling, "It's a perfect attendance pencil!" Yaaaaas, Taylor. You tell them!
As Taylor's story quickly went viral on social media, netizens across the globe rose to her support, calling out the little girl who went to CANADA and then dared to take Taylor's perfect attendance pencil. And boy, did people have some strong feelings about the injustice suffered by the adorable baby girl.
