Jennifer Lopez And Ben Are Officially Married

Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49 are now husband and wife!

It's official! Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have tied the knot in Las Vegas. "We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient," JLo wrote on her website, per BBC. The intimate ceremony comes 17 years after they called off their first engagement. On the JLo website, Lopez said the couple had flown to Las Vegas on Saturday and waited for a marriage license alongside four other couples. "They were right when they said, 'all you need is love'," she wrote. "We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to."

Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49 first dated way back in 2002 and got engaged that November. The following year they decided to get married in September 2003 but postponed it just days before the big day. Eventually, they called it off in January 2004, but now it looks like the couple got a second chance at love and they're not letting go this time.  "I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him," she told PEOPLE, "It's a beautiful love story that we got a second chance." She added, "Before we kind of put [our relationship] out there and we were naïve and it got a little trampled." Now it's different. "We both were like, 'Wow, we're so happy and we don't want any of that to come into play again.' We're older now, we're smarter, we have more experience, we're at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things. We're so protective because it is such a beautiful time for all of us."

The two are opening their lives to a blended family. JLo shares 14-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, and Affleck shares three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10. "It's a beautiful outcome that this has happened in this way at this time in our lives where we can really appreciate and celebrate each other and respect each other," continued Lopez. "We always did, but we have even more of an appreciation because we know that life can take you in different directions."

According to PEOPLE, the two got a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada, over the weekend, according to court records. They tied the knot in a "small" ceremony, a source shared. "It was super, super small. They just wanted to be married so they got married." Speaking of how Affleck proposed, she explained on her website,  "Did you ever imagine your biggest dream could come true?" she wrote at the time. "Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed. I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, 'is that a yes?' I said YES of course that's a YES."

Congrats to the happy couple!
