Jason Momoa Shaves His Beard Off After 7 Years For His "Kids, Your Kids, The World" And Looks Amazing

The Game of Thrones actor shaved off his signature beard to create awareness on protecting the environment.

The world was not ready for this, and this was a change we were not expecting. But, we're not disappointed. Jason Momoa, an actor who makes many hearts go aflutter every time he's on camera, has shaved his signature beard off. Yes, you heard that right. The actor announced his decision to shave his beard that made him look like a Greek God through a video on YouTube, and needless to say, with or without the beard, he looks HOT. Can this man do no wrong? Bidding adieu to the popular on-screen characters that he portrayed with his beard, he wrote, "Goodbye DROGO, AQUAMAN, DECLAN, BABA! I'm shaving this beast off, it's time to make a change. A change for the better...for my kids, for your kids, the world."

It is worth mentioning that it is the first time Momoa has shaved his beard since 2012. But there's a rather interesting reason behind this new avatar. He added in the caption, "Let's make a positive change for the health of our planet. Let's clean up our oceans and our land. Join me on this journey. Let's make a switch to INFINITELY RECYCLABLE aluminum. Water in cans, NOT plastic." Momoa, who is determined to bring about positive change in the environment, has made this change to his own appearance to encourage others to change the way we treat the planet. The Aquaman actor's transformation is an attempt to throw light on a new line of canned water that he is helping launch with the Ball Corporation. Through the same, he is appealing to consumers to switch to recyclable aluminum.

As he shaves off his beard revealing that perfectly chiseled jawline, he says, "I just want to do this to bring awareness because plastics are killing our planet and I think we have a solution. I don’t want to bitch about it. There's only one thing that will really help our planet and save our planet, as long as we recycle, and that's aluminum. About 75 percent of all aluminum that’s ever been used is still in use today. And it's 100 percent recyclable. You drink the can and in about 60 days, it’ll be back. 100 percent infinitely recyclable."

He further adds in the video, "I hate going to the airport. And once on the airplane, there's a (plastic) water bottle this big when it can be aluminum. It's fully recyclable." The actor next goes on to reveal that he's been working on this idea to get aluminum water made. "I wanted to make my own water so I could be an example. So I had a product I could take out to give to the world. And that I could take to other companies in the hope that they could do the same. I’m on a quest. It’s my journey."

As the video comes to a close, and the actor revealing his beautiful face, says, "So please, please. There’s a change coming. Aluminum. We got to get rid of these plastic water bottles. Aquaman's trying to do the best he can. For your kids, for my kids, for the world. Clean up the oceans, clean up the land."

Reacting to his new look and the video, fans had some nice things to say.

However, we're glad he didn't shave off that beautiful mane. Guess what, it's not just us but even his wife Lisa Bonet, 51, who is a fan of the lengthy mane. Speaking to the Daily Telegraph in December, he had said, "My wife would leave me if I cut my hair so I just don’t cut my hair. I am not cutting my hair for a while, I will tell you that much." The locks hold more significance in their relationship, ever since the pair first met in 2005. "We just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I actually had dreaded my hair for her. I had dreadlocks, she had dreadlocks. I literally turned around and I see her and she goes, ‘I’m Lisa'," Momoa had told James Corden in 2017 recalling the first time he met Bonet in a jazz club in NYC, reports People

Coming back to his locks, the actor also has professional reasons to keep them intact for now. So until he's playing Aquaman and shooting sequels to the movie, we're safe. But just saying, there's only so much we can handle at a time, Jason! Go easy!
