Momoa and his family were in Venice when he decided to take a dip in his hotel pool. He was snapped by the paparazzi, and a lot of people were surprised that Momoa was not his ripped self.
Jason Momoa! Only his name is enough to make people drool. But the man is getting a lot of criticism and hate lately. And it's for a reason nobody would have even dared up until a few weeks ago - his body - when many of his movies were just being released.
He personified Aquaman not only in the stand-alone movie by the same name but even in the Justice League franchise, with his ripped body and tattoos. His role as an aggressive and violent Dothraki warlord, Khal Drogo, in Game Of Thrones, also had hearts racing. And who can forget Jason Loane from Baywatch?
Without a doubt, Momoa is one of the sexiest men around. But even a man with a titan's body needs to chill out and let loose sometimes. On vacation in Europe right now with his family, images of Momoa with a 'dad bod' has surfaced and people cannot seem to accept that he is without his chiseled body.
While in Venice, Jason was seen shirtless in a pool with his wife Lisa Bonet on July 2. The two have been touring Europe since Bonet’s daughter Zoë Kravitz married Karl Glausman in Paris on June 29.
Momoa and Bonet were also caught stopping for treats at the Gelateria Paolin with daughter Lola, 11, and son Nokoa-Wolf, 10, on July 1. People had a lot to say about how Momoa looked and some were body-shaming him.
I’m just tryna look like Jason momoa with hella tattoos one day. No more dad bod no more unfinished tattoos just long hair bad ass beard yoked af riding Harley’s and being a dad/husband.

There were however those who came to his rescue. Although we think Momoa does not need anyone to defend him, we sure are glad that people are looking out for him. A lot of people even though Momoa looked better with the dad bod than his perfect and chiseled self.
is it just me or is Jason Momoa yummier in an almost dad bod 🤤 pic.twitter.com/cJ1PsH5ckY

In fact, some even questioned how Momoa's body was a 'dad bod', a slang term used in popular culture for people with bodies that resemble that of middle-aged men, Many celebrities have dad bods and foremost among them is Leonardo Dicaprio himself. We never hear anyone say anything about Leo so why Momoa?
Jason Momoa's "Dad Bod" is still 100 times better than my bod.....

Leo and the likes of Seth Rogan and even Chris Pratt have all been seen with dad bods and most of the time they were praised for it. According to a study by Planet Fitness, Americans prefer a guy with a "dad bod" to someone with ripped abs.

The study surveyed over 2,000 men and women and found that more males are self-identifying as having a "dad bod." At least 65 percent of men and women found a dad bod attractive and 61 percent thought a father figure was sexy, said the survey. More than half believe a dad bod is sexier than a ripped, lean stomach.

Survey finds one woman currently waiting outside the bathroom at local Meijer prefer a "dad bod" over six-pack abs (survey may not be representative of all women which would explain why Jason Momoa is famous). https://t.co/K29R7FtpSv
There are other studies that also highlight a preference for more realistic bodies. On Twitter, user @J_CupcakeTV commented about the unreal standards of one's bodies that people were projecting by criticizing Momoa.
He wrote: So apparently people are shaming Jason Momoa's Dad bod... you know the body where he looks like an above average fit man instead of a Spartan Warrior? Another person, @JayNguyen_C, praised Momoa and wrote: As a person with terrible body dysmorphia I appreciate Jason Momoa’s “dad bod”. It’s not like he did it intentionally, but shows that people go through weight fluctuations. Not everyone is shredded all the time, and also people are mean about all bods.
