Dairy Queen Launches Summery Orange Dreamsicle-Dipped Cones And People Are Loving It

Dreamsicle Dipped Cone is made with world-famous DQ soft serve and a vibrantly colored, creamy orange and vanilla flavored coating.

Summertime always means an endless stock of all things cold, especially ice-creams and ice-lollies. Brands usually cash in on this time of the year with summer specials and Dairy Queen just joined that list for this summer. According to Delish, the chain has launched Dreamsicle-Dipped Cones. Though the company hasn't officially announced the launch yet, the delicious soft-serve is now part of the menu in select locations.

The Dreamsicle Dipped Cone is a classic vanilla soft-serve DQ cone dipped in a sherbet-like orange-flavored ice coating. According to Chewboom, the newest-kid-on-the-block is proving to be so popular that some DQ outlets have to dip the chain's iconic Dilly Bars in the Dreamsicle coating as well.

According to PopSugar, the Dreamsicle Cone is kind-of a second take on the chain's beloved chocolate-dipped ice cream cone. Dairy Queen told ScaryMommy, “The new Dreamsicle Dipped Cone is made with world-famous DQ soft serve and a vibrantly colored, creamy orange and vanilla flavored coating with a signature cone dip crunch. At DQ locations now through the summer, a Dreamsicle Dipped Cone is $2.44, but availability and price may vary by location,” Dairy Queen tells Scary Mommy.

Those who are fans of this treat with its signature curl on top can order the vanilla variety at participating non-mall DQ and DQ Grill & Chill locations across the U.S. Each customer is limited to one cone. The magical dessert isn’t listed on their website yet. The outlet also reports additional stores will welcome the cone come May 1.

Off late, Dairy Queen has been doing a lot. On March 20, they celebrated the beginning of Spring in the most amazing way: by giving out free ice cream. Yup yup, you read right. DQ gave away free soft-serve cones. However, one needs to note that these soft-serves looked a lot like the Dreamsicles. We wonder if they were sneakily promoting the product before the launch. In the press release talking about the Free Cone Day, Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing at American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ) said, "We love that our tradition of Free Cone Day has become synonymous with the return of warmer weather and bringing people together."

Right on the heels of Free Cone Day, the company announced the launch of their new Chicken and Waffle Baskets. "We're thrilled to offer the best of both worlds with our delicious take on a classic," Hokanson said. "Fans love our chicken strip basket, and now they can really indulge with the addition of decadent Belgian Waffles."
