The legendary singer said that despite being a sanctuary city, LA just cannot take in any more immigrants. This is completely contradictory to her tweet back in September 2017.
On Sunday, April 14, Cher posted a tweet about the current immigration crisis in the USA that shocked a lot of people. The performer, known for a pro-immigration stance, seemed to do a complete 180 degree turn when she questioned why a city and state that “isn’t taking care of its own” should bring in and “take care of more.”
I Understand Helping struggling Immigrants, but MY CITY (Los Angeles) ISNT TAKING CARE OF ITS OWN.WHAT ABOUT THE 50,000+🇺🇸Citizens WHO LIVE ON THE STREETS.PPL WHO LIVE BELOW POVERTY LINE,& HUNGRY? If My State Can’t Take Care of Its Own(Many Are VETS)How Can it Take Care Of More

This is after, Cher famously tweeted back in September 2017 that she would welcome "a dreamer" into her home and her business. She had posted the "dreamer tweet" in response to the Trump administration who had then formally ended the immigration policy, DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), which was put into place by former President Barack Obama in 2012. This immigration policy protected illegal immigrants who came into the country as children from being deported.
Those Who Can Must Take a DREAMER In2 Their Home & Protect Them‼️I’m Ready 2 Do This & 🙏🏻Others in MY BUSINESS WILL DO THE SAME‼️SANCTUARY

The liberal (maybe not so much anymore?) singer's tweet comes after Trump took a dig at the Democrats regarding the immigration crisis. In his tweet, Trump suggested that if Democrats did not like his plan to send illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities they should change immigration laws. “If not,” he cautioned, “Sanctuary Cities must immediately ACT to take care of the Illegal Immigrants – and this includes Gang Members, Drug Dealers, Human Traffickers, and Criminals of all shapes, sizes, and kinds."
The president's tweet caused some major uproar among the Liberals who have blamed the president for using illegal immigrants as political pawns to punish his political opponents. Well, if he could separate parents from their infant children on the border, can we really expect anything better from him?
Prior to this, Cher had also posted:
WILL TRUMP”REALLY”DO WHAT HE JUST SAID HE WOULD⁉️WILL HE FLOOD MY STATE WITH THOUSANDS OF”RAPISTS,&

MURDERS”(His Words)AS A PUNISHMENT⁉️WHAT KIND OF PRESIDENT IS HE⁉️WHAT KIND OF MAN IS HE⁉️HE’S THE 🌎’s NEWEST DICTATOR,& He Wants HIS Troops 2 Put Up internment Camps.
Trump's actions are definitely vile, but to call the welcoming of immigrants into sanctuary cities a "punishment" makes us question her leanings even more. Twitter clearly wasn't happy with her new views.
Isn’t this exactly what you want? Take in illegals, give them welfare, medical, schooling. I’m confused. One minute you want them here the next breath you don’t. Take a stand. I don’t agree with your views, but I had more respect for you when you owned it.

Cher’s stance reversal has drawn the attention of many on Twitter who noted the irony including personalities such as political commentators Michael J. Knowles, Kurt Schlichter, and columnist Jessica Fletcher.
I'll never forget where I was and what I was doing the moment @Cher became a Republican. https://t.co/eAA8JOkAFK
