You Can Now Get Indoor Pineapple Plants To Add The Tropical Vibe To Your Home

You’ll want to find a sunny spot to keep your little pineapple plant thriving!

You may already have plenty of plants and succulents in your home, but check again to see if there's a cute little pineapple growing in one of them! Home Depot is selling a Pineapple plant from Pure Beauty Farms, a Miami-based company and you can get one for your house or apartment too! Pure Beauty Farms is a wholesale plant nursery located in Miami, Florida. With over 26 years of growing experience, they currently have over 1,000 different varieties of plants.

This is really neat, the plant can be conveniently placed at any given location in your home and it really makes you feel like you're on a tropical vacation.

This unique plant is part of the bromeliad family, a genus of plants that's native to tropical locations. There's no need to fret as these do pretty well indoors.  This pineapple plant has sword-like spiny green leaves that create dense rosettes. If you happened to look closely, you will find that an actual pineapple will sprout on the large center stem. Sorry to break the news to you though, they are not for eating! Yes, this is an ornamental pineapple, or dwarf pineapple, and isn't meant to be a tasty snack. However, it does make for a lively and pretty flower.

The official description of the pineapple plant states that: Pure Beauty Farms grows this interesting ornamental pineapple plant, which sprouts an actual pineapple from a large center stem (not for eating). Our ornamental pineapple plant is part of the Bromeliad family, which is native to tropical climates but does very well as indoor plants. It has swordlike spiny green leaves, formed in a dense rosette, with the fruit held in the center on a tall sturdy stalk. Being a sun lover it can be grown on a sunny kitchen windowsill, a sunroom or just about anyplace where it will receive about 6-hours or so of sunlight. Many people grow them indoors in the winter and place them outside in a sunny location during the warmer months. The ornamental pineapple plant makes a unique living gift for someone with a taste for the exotic. This strikingly spiky pineapple plant will give any home or office a tropical transformation. Allow the soil to dry out between watering.

You'll want to find a nice sunny spot to keep this pineapple plant thriving at home. Make sure it receives the necessary amount of sunlight to thrive each day. Also, remember to keep the pineapple plant indoors during winter months and start to move it once it gets warmer outside. The pineapple plant will tolerate drought and sandy soil as long as careful attention is placed on water and fertilizer needs, according to Delish.

You can nourish the plant by watering it once a week. If the soil you use does not hold water very well, then you might need to make it twice or thrice a week. As you can see, it's quite low maintenance, but just be sure to pay careful attention during long, hot, dry periods where it might require you to water more frequently, especially during the time where it flowers.

The pineapple plant is available to purchase at Home Depot for just $29.98 and comes in a 5-inch super cool designer pot. You pretty much have all you need there! The plant will be handily delivered straight to your doorstep so it's just like any other package really. The summer is slowly creeping in and it's the perfect time to add some more greenery to your living spaces! And what's better than a tropical plant for exactly that.
