The trio appeared next to the show's signature blue-colored canine to perform the song, 'You Can't Spell Blue Without You.'
This year's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which was organized by Macy's, saw three special guests riding on the Blue's Clues float. It was the show's hosts, Steve Burns (Steve), Donovan Patton (Joe) and Joshua Dela Cruz (Josh). The Blue's Clues balloon has been featured at the New York annual event since 1999, revealed parade host Savannah. And this year during the world's biggest parade on Thursday, several TV eras came together when the trio of Blue's Clues hosts united to perform a sweet song celebrating the beloved family show's 25th anniversary.
(I've taken to relying heavily upon Blue's "I found a clue" noise as of late so I'm excited to see the Blue's Clues float!) pic.twitter.com/DIkBliCNzm— 🎃 Stephanie Nicole 🎃 (@Slinksterfeline) November 28, 2019
According to PEOPLE, they appeared next to the show's signature blue-colored canine to perform the song, 'You Can't Spell Blue Without You' which thank its fans for their overwhelming support over the show's 25-year history. Shortly after their performance, Nickelodeon posted a video of the trio smiling ear-to-ear while riding along the parade route on Twitter. "Welcome to the Thanksgiving Day Parade!" 32-year-old Cruz is heard saying in the clip as turns the camera towards 43-year-old Patton, and 47-year-old Burns, who looked equally excited to be there as Burns greeted their fans with a warm "Hey, everybody!"
As for Nickelodeon's caption, it read, "Loved seeing all our #BluesCluesAndYou fam together at the #MacysParade 💙🐾 Anyone else suddenly getting really emotional? 😭" Now Burns originally hosted Blue's Clues, which began in 1996, before Patton took over his role in 2002 following his sudden departure from the program. Burns recently addressed his abrupt withdrawal from the show in a September video message via Nick Jr. "I realize that was kind of abrupt. I just kinda got up and went to college," revealed the actor.
we were walking around and ran into the Macy's parade. We stuck around to watch and our minds were totally blown when we saw that Steve was on a Blue's Clue's float. Well, we all totally lost our shit and started yelling at him "OMG, Steve, we love you, STEEEEVE!" 2/x— ☃️Sleigh-Bell Romero❄️ (@MaybellRomero) August 16, 2021
"That was really challenging, by the way, but great because I got to use my mind and take a step away ... and now I literally am doing many of the things that I wanted to do. And then look at you! And look at all you have done and all you have accomplished in all that time! It's just so amazing, right?" he added. "I mean, we started out with clues and now, it's what? Student loans, and jobs, and families. And some of it has been kind of hard, you know? I know you know. I wanted to tell you that I really couldn't have done all of that without your help. In fact, all the help that you helped me with when we were younger is still helping me today. Right now. And that's super cool."
Concluding the messages, Burns told his fans that "after all these years, I never forgot you … ever. And I'm super glad we're still friends." Although the live-action/animated educational children's television series ended with its sixth season in 2006. It was revived in 2019 as Blue's Clues & You!, which debuted 13 after the original program ended after grinning for 10 years, according to Entertainment Weekly. This isn't the first time that three hosts have come together, previously Burns united with Patton and Cruz to watch their respective first episodes as hosts of Blue's Clues when Nick Jr. celebrated its series' 25th anniversary.
