Prince Harry referred to his late mother, Princess Diana, as "one of the naughtiest parents" who smothered her kids with love.
With the arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's baby, the Duke of Sussex now seems to have a stronger connection with his late mother, Princess Diana, as he enters the phase of parenthood. A television and radio presenter in the United Kingdom, Emma Forbes is of the view that the 34-year-old new father will prove to be an "amazing father." Emma, who has some ties with the royal family says, "Harry’s the one that’s got so much of Diana in him."
Expressing her deep regret for the late Princess, Emma continues, "I was actually thinking about that this morning – how tragic it is that she’s not alive because she’d be the most incredible grandmother." Emma sure has a lot of hope from the new dad and his baby boy. She predicts Harry to be a "cool dad" who is destined to follow in Diana's footsteps. She says, "Harry will be one of those fathers that gets the balance right between being hands-on and taking adventures," Forbes further adds, "I could so see him traveling with a son at his side."
After the release of Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, a 2017 documentary, Diana's parenting style was no longer a secret. Both her sons, Prince William, and Harry provided refreshing insight into the private life of their mother. Harry described his beloved mother's as "one of the naughtiest parents." William expressed, "She was very informal and really enjoyed the laughter and the fun." She didn't shy her boys from the realities that existed outside the walls of the palace. "She understood that there was a real life outside of palace walls," he added.
Reminiscing the unconditional love she had for her sons, Harry said, "She was our mum. She still is our mum. And of course, as a son I would say this, she was the best mum in the world." He then added, "She smothered us with love, that’s for sure." After a tragic car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997, in which 36-year old Diana lost her precious life, she left behind William and Harry, who were just 15 and 12 respectively at the time. During their engagement Interview in 2017, Harry expressed how his mother and now wife Meghan Markle would have gotten along pretty well if she was still alive.
"I think she would be over the moon, jumping up and down, you know so excited for me, but then, as I said, would have probably been best friends – best friends with Meghan," said Harry. "So no it’s – you know it is days like – days like today when – when I really miss having her around and miss being able to share the happy news. But you know with the ring and with everything else that’s going on I’m sure she’s…" Like any perfect partner, Meghan completed his sentence saying, "She’s with us."
The Duchess of Sussex did have something that is an equivalent reminder of her late mother-in-law whom she never had the chance to meet. Markle's engagement ring included two diamonds which were taken from Diana's personal jewelry collection. Meghan stated, "I think everything about Harry’s thoughtfulness is – and the inclusion of that and obviously not being able to meet his mom it’s so important to me to – to know that she’s a part of this with us."
"And I think in being able to meet his aunts and – and also like Julia and just different people who were so important to his mom, I’m able to, in some way, know a part of her through them and of course through him. And it’s – it’s incredibly special," she added. Prince Harry had something really wonderful to say about his whole experience and surprised the cameras to share this wonderful news.
According to Today, the new Royal father announced, "I'm very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy." Unable to contain his excitement he addd, "It's been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine...This little thing is absolutely to die for." He also informs that they haven't chosen a name for their son yet. Only time will tell how the relationship of the new parents develops with their baby boy.
