A married California teacher has been taken into custody for raping a 14-year-old boy thrice during their independent study sessions. Fresno County Sheriff's Office and Central California Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force had received a tip about 39-year-old Krystal Jackson sexually abusing an underage student. Thus, began a year-long investigation by the Fresno County Sheriff's Sex Crimes Unit detective which finally ended on Friday, September 3, with her arrest. "Mrs. Jackson is in custody tonight," revealed Fresno County Sheriff Lieutenant Brandon Pursell. "We believe that our victim is safe, which we are grateful for, but we don’t know if there are other victims," he added.
In the due course of the investigation, officials uncovered that Jackson had sexual intercourse with the unnamed victim at least three times in a year. Jackson, who was working as an independent study teacher with the Mountain View Independent School in Reedley last year, would meet the student at the Dunlap Leadership Academy regularly for their once-a-week independent study sessions. Authorities claimed that the academy was the place where the crimes took place. "The worst part of this is that our victim was abused, that is number one," shared Pursell. "But also the fact that our suspect is in a position of trust."
As for the school district that manages the school Jackson works for, it has been working closely with law enforcement. That being said, they did not wish to comment on the case as it was "personnel matters." Per Daily Mail, the district did release a statement that read, "Kings Canyon Unified School District administrators recently became aware of accusations regarding a Mountain View School teacher. District administrators are working diligently with law enforcement officials who are releasing details regarding their investigation." It continued, "The safety of students and staff members continues to be a top priority and the district will provide counseling and support services to any students or staff members in need. The District cannot comment on confidential personnel matters."
Per Your Central Valley, Jackson is currently being held in jail and her bail is set at $215,000. "Jackson faces four counts of rape, oral copulation with a child, lewd acts with a child, communicating with a child to commit a felony, and meeting with a child for lewd purposes," added Pursell. He added that Jackson worked formant Central Valley school districts before joining Mountain View in 2020. Although the teacher is behind bars at the moment, authorities believe that they may be more victims who have not yet reported Jackson's sordid actions. These victims are being urged to come forward with their stories and anyone who is aware of such behavior is requested to contact Detective Jose Leon at (559) 600-8205 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867. The case still remains under investigation according to police.
Just last year a 37-year-old high school teacher from Florida was arrested for allegedly raping one of her students inside the school campus. We reported that Meghan Mary Rodriguez's relationship with a 17-year-old student began in 2019 with a friendly exchange of texts. But by summer, it turned sexual. Apparently, the student was attending a summer practice at Navarre High School when he went to meet Rodriguez in her classroom to discuss some issues. This is when the rape happened. "[The student] insisted that this only occurred once and he regretted it afterwards," said the police report. The boy revealed that Rodriguez had initiated the illegal relationship and that he simply played along, fearing he would be failed by her if he didn't.

An interview conducted with students on April 28 revealed that Rodriguez was becoming increasingly involved in his personal life and that she favored him among others. The student eventually grew extremely worried about his grades after a school trip to Orlando where Rodriguez allegedly told him that Suzanne Wilcox, another teacher, didn't like him because he had hurt Rodriguez's feelings and that she knew they were "romantically involved." Apparently, she was furious and frustrated with him that day and cleared six people from a hotel room during the trip just to talk for 15 minutes about his feelings for her. On June 11, last year, the teacher was booked into a local jail on a count of a second-degree felony charge of sexual assault on a minor, with the arraignment suggesting she is being held without bond.
