Sharon Stone's 11-Month-Old Nephew Has Died: "God Needed River In Heaven"

Sharon Stone's 11-Month-Old Nephew Has Died: "God Needed River In Heaven"

Sharon Stone previously shared that her godson had been admitted to the hospital due to total organ failure.

On Friday, Sharon Stone shared the news of her nephew's sudden hospitalization due to total organ failure. Three days later, the devastated actress revealed that her godson, River, tragically passed away. "River William Stone Sept. 8, 2020 - Aug. 30, 2021," she wrote in the caption of a video tribute to the almost 1-year-old on Instagram. River could be seen being an adorable toddler in the clip which was set to the tune of Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven. Stone previously took to the social medium to share a picture of the toddler lying in a hospital bed with several tubes and wires around his body. "My nephew and godson River Stone was found in his crib w total organ failure today," wrote the Basic Instinct star. "Please pray for him."

In no time, the comment section was filled with comments from celebrities who expressed their deepest sympathies for her family's loss. Ugh. I’m sitting here in tears. I’m so sorry, Sharon. What a beautiful boy. Sending all my love to you and your family, ❤️😢 wrote Sean Hayes. Sharon, I’m so very sorry for your loss. This is incredibly heartbreaking. My love, prayers and thoughts to yosauu and your family, ❤️ expressed Jamie Alexander. Even Debra Messing expressed, Noooooooooooooo. I am in disbelief. Oh Sharon, there are no words, other than I’m so sorry for your whole family’s loss. I am praying for all of you at this unimaginable time.

Per Today, River is the third child of Stone's brother Patrick and his wife, Tasha. The couple resides in Ohio. Previously, the parents provided a health update on Facebook writing, "This is the HARDEST thing I have ever had to post but I am BEGGING everyone and anyone who prays please pray HARD for River," wrote Tasha on August 26. "He was life-flighted to Children’s UPMC Pittsburgh last night/early morning and is not doing so well. He is in a coma currently and I am dying." Shortly after their son's untimely death, Tasha shared an emotional post that read, "God needed River in Heaven."

"I can’t say more than I needed him here on Earth because my heart is shattered into a million pieces. My days will never be the same and I have no idea how I am supposed to live my life without the sweetest boy in the universe. I am crushed. River William Stone you were loved beyond measure. Leaving your hospital room today was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I will ALWAYS love you my sweet baby boy," continued the post which was shared on Monday. Understandably, the loss left the Stone family devastated. Even Stone's sister posted a sweet prayer for the baby boy on Monday. "Fly with the angels my sweet boy RIVER," she wrote sharing a video of the child.

Just a year ago, we saw Stone sharing the news of her nephew's birth on Instagram. "Look who's going home," she wrote on the post that showed the newborn baby being discharged from the hospital. But this isn't the only loss the mother of three had to experience recently. According to USA Today, Stone revealed last August that her grandmother and godmother had passed away after COVID-19 hit her family in Montana. Even her sister Kelly and brother-in-law, Bruce, had to be hospitalized. Thankfully, they have recovered ever since then. The unfortunate death of the little child just goes on to show the ambiguity of life. We hope River is in a better place where he rests in peace.
